We’re based between Newcastle and the Central Coast, and we work with buyers across NSW who are tired of being told to “just keep saving.” There are often more pathways into the market than people realise, and helping people understand what’s actually available is what we do.

No big call centres. No being passed around. Just a small, local team that genuinely cares about getting you into your first home.

Hi, I’m Jonah, mortgage broker and founder of Evergreen Lending Group, based between Newcastle and the Central Coast.

I started Evergreen because I kept seeing first home buyers either give up on the idea of owning, or spend years saving toward a target that kept moving. There are often more options available than most people realise, and I wanted to be the person who actually takes the time to explain them.

I specialise in low deposit home loans for first home buyers. That means family guarantor loans, government schemes like the First Home Guarantee, and lenders who genuinely work well for buyers without a full 20% deposit. Every situation is different, and figuring out what’s realistic for yours is what I enjoy most about this work.

I’m also local. I know this market, I know these suburbs, and I’m not going anywhere.

When I’m not deep in loan applications, you’ll find me on the coast, underwater scuba diving, hanging out with my wife’s horses, or winning (losing) at board games.

When he’s not buried in loan applications, you’ll find him somewhere underwater on the coast or losing convincingly at board games.

Nicola keeps Evergreen Lending Group running behind the scenes – managing the content you see on socials, making sure the admin side of things doesn’t fall apart, and generally being the reason everything actually gets done. Jonah would be lost without her, and he knows it.

When she’s not keeping the business organised, she’s being supervised by two very unhelpful office cats.
